Services

FASD Southeast is a cooperative effort between Meharry Medical College, Tennessee State University, the University of Louisville, and Morehouse School of Medicine. The headquarters is in the Meharry Medical College Department of Family and Community Medicine in Nashville, TN. FASD Southeast’s goal is to train medical and health professionals in the prevention, recognition, diagnosis, intervention, and treatment of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders.

We promote our services to universities, colleges, hospitals, clinics, community health centers and public/ civic organizations within the southeastern region of the United States (AL, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, SC, and TN). Our services include:

  • Training for medical/ health care professionals on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD)
  • Training for medical / health care students on FASD
  • Annual FASD Train-the-trainer workshops
  • Technical assistance and support for collaborators and new speakers or satellite teams in the southeast 
  • Website containing FASD information and links for medical professionals and general public
  • Assistance in referral and connecting interested parties in on-site training through FASD Southeast faculty or speakers bureau (designated speaker)
  • Participation in and hosting of local, state, and regional public efforts or events to disseminate FASD information and increase awareness
