About Us
FASDsoutheast Regional Training Center
The FASDsoutheast Regional Training Center has grown since its previous grant award cycles. This three-year (2009 to 2011) cooperative agreement, made possible by a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, began in October 2008. It is a partnership with Tennessee State University, Morehouse School of Medicine, and the University of Louisville with official headquarters at Meharry Medical College Department of Family & Community Medicine in Nashville, TN. Our purpose is to train Primary Care providers, students, and residents in the southeast states of Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Louisiana. FASD Southeast speakers are current academic faculty from prestigious academic institutions and are experts in the fields of Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Developmental Pediatrics, Social Work, Physical Therapy, Medical Ethics, Epidemiology, and Global Health. Collaboration with other universities and yearly FASD Southeast workshops have allowed us to grow the center core unit, gain more trained speakers, and deliver more trainings.
